Stratified Tiramisu
2025, Mixed-media sculpture, performance video
This work uses tiramisu—a layered dessert—as a medium to translate personal memory into a form resembling geological stratification. The repeated stacking of coffee-soaked sponge and cream is reinterpreted not as a culinary experience, but as an accumulation of time, emotion, and lived experience.
Unlike natural strata, these layers do not follow a linear timeline. Instead, they are formed through overlaps, displacements, and permeations, constructing a subjective structure of time. As an edible object, the dessert can be cut, shared, and consumed, transforming memory from something preserved into something gradually dissolved.
